Social Action

The Foothill Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. believes in following the footsteps of the Sorority’s 22 Founders who were trailblazers in supporting Social Action issues. One hundred five years later, in honor of the civic minded and action oriented Founders, the chapter is committed to speaking for those who feel they have no voice, helping those who are less fortunate, and continuing the fight to end injustices around the world. Emphasis has been placed on the following projects:

  • Voter Registration

  • Menthol Abuse/Black Lives, Black Lungs

  • Membership/Support of NAACP

  • Social Action Commission’s Delta Days in the Nation’s Capital

  • Delta Days in the State’s Capital

Foothill Alumnae Chapter appreciates that there are many organizations and programs in the community that focus on positive issues to enhance community awareness. The Chapter collaborates with partnering organizations to assure quality services throughout the San Gabriel/Foothill area, such as:

  • League of Women Voters

  • Women’s March

  • Coalition for a Tobacco Free LA County
